Future Energy Conversations

Future Ener­gy Con­ver­sa­tions are oppor­tu­ni­ties for the com­mu­ni­ty to engage with experts about future ener­gy in the North­ern Ter­ri­to­ry, and for the ener­gy indus­try to lis­ten to com­mu­ni­ty perspectives.

The inau­gur­al speak­er was Mal­colm Con­way, Pow­er and Water Cor­po­ra­tion​’s Sys­tem Con­trol Gen­er­al Man­ag­er. Mr Con­way spoke about his team’s reg­u­lat­ed role in man­ag­ing the Alice Springs pow­er sys­tem, and the oppor­tu­ni­ties and chal­lenges asso­ci­at­ed with the inte­gra­tion of renew­able energy. 

A sec­ond Future Ener­gy Con­ver­sa­tion involved stu­dents from Cen­tralian Mid­dle School. The year sev­ens heard from renew­able ener­gy engi­neers, and enjoyed a tour of the DKA Solar Cen­tre.
