Knowl­edge Inter­sec­tions Sym­po­sium 2022 Program

Pre­sen­ters and Abstracts

We invite ear­ly-career and estab­lished researchers, PhD stu­dents and local organ­i­sa­tions to come togeth­er and exchange knowl­edge in sup­port of learn­ings and pro­gres­sion for cen­tral Australia.

The Knowl­edge Inter­sec­tions Sym­po­sium is set to return in late 2022 with its fifth edi­tion: Chan­nels for a thriv­ing desert’. This year’s theme will cast a light on cen­tral Aus­tralian projects from the past, present and future, cre­at­ing syn­er­gies to strength­en our region and pave the way forward.

The Sym­po­sium is co-host­ed by the Desert Knowl­edge Research Insti­tute, Batch­e­lor Insti­tute of Indige­nous Ter­tiary Edu­ca­tion, Charles Dar­win Uni­ver­si­ty, and the Desert Peo­ples Cen­tre.

Held over 22 – 23 Novem­ber at the Desert Knowl­edge Precinct, this two-day event builds on the suc­cess of pre­vi­ous edi­tions to include:

  • Wel­come func­tion and net­work­ing session
  • Extend­ed keynote ses­sion fea­tur­ing local trailblazers
  • Pre­sen­ta­tion ses­sions to show­case and exchange local knowledge
  • Forum for cen­tral Aus­tralian researchers and enterprises
  • Ple­nary to unpack Chan­nels for a thriv­ing desert’ and review highlights

Join us as we recog­nise and cel­e­brate the region’s best work in edu­ca­tion, arts, lan­guage, health, pri­ma­ry pre­ven­tion, enter­prise, and more!
